Prydwyn´s solo debut. Amazing and beautiful traditionals and originals on diverse instruments. Acid-bard music by one half of Stone Breath. Required listening!

Prydwyn (with Quickthorn) "Solitude Owes Me a Smile" CD Hand/Eye h/e044

Prydwyn’s hands have touched many albums over the years, and all of them have been made better for his participation. He is one half of Stone Breath; has recorded and played live with Tom Rapp (Pearls Before Swine); and fronted his own folk-psych-rock unit, Green Crown. Yet in all of these years, “Solitude Owes Me a Smile” is only his second solo album – the first came over a decade hence. Here we get the benefit of all those years experience and patience as Prydwyn distills the best of what he does with others into a point focused by his own vision. From the detailed acoustic touches he added for Tom Rapp; to the wonderful harmonies he makes for Stone Breath; to the poignant songwriting and arrangements he did for Green Crown – all of this and more graces the timely, and timeless, “Solitude Owes Me a Smile.”

Psychotrone Rhonedakk "Keep On Psychedelic Mind" CD

Psychatrone is a lone psychedelic musician that experiments with tape loops and tape "cut-ups",and uses all sorts of instruments and debris to concoct his musical adventures!

Wire magazine said that Psychatrone is "very much in the tradition of private press luminaries like SIMONES and St.MIKEAL.The Acid Mothers tribute,'Theme from Acid Mother Lovers' is particularly deranged, with tumbling electronics and high frequency flashes slowly giving way to snatches of what sounds like Godzilla terrorising Nagoya. The Cd moves from heavy machine and guitar interaction to spaced tape manipulations, cut with daft hippy humour."

Psychotrone Rhonedakk with Cotton Casino "Baron Von Rhonedakk and the Crystal Sun" CD

Here is the next chapter in the Psychatrone Rhonedakk saga...which might also be called "Psych Rhonedakk Vol.4"!This time Mr.Rhonedakk is joined by Ms. Cotton Casino(of Japan's Acid Mothers Temple)on the Cd's first 3 tracks!

A few cover songs are featured here. Pink Floyd's "Set The Controls For the Heart Of The Sun",Neu!'s "Lila Engle",and Nazareth's "Night Woman"(a ten minute version)are given new ,spacey arrangements purely by sending them through Psychatrone and Cotton's neurons.Hand drums, synths, bamboo flute, sitar, bells, guitar, and vocals are used here to produce a "balm for spinning minds",so to speak...a floating late-night trip.

This mellow ,trippy CD takes you from deep space,to tribal chitterings,to floating dream-space,then to a mutant Bo Diddley trance-out,and right back to earth via a solo cover of "Set The Controls For the Heart Of The Sun"...round trip you might say!

The WIRE magazine said of the "Baron...","...psychedelic guitar warlord Psychatrone Rhonedakk and ex-Acid Mothers synth/sitar player Cotton Casino join forces on a work of mindbending beauty." They go on to state that the cover songs,"are cloned and bent out of shape with insane ingenuity."

Psychotrone Rhonedakk "Disturbs the Air" CD

This is the fifth album by PSYCHATRONE RHONEDAKK called "Disturbs The Air"....coming just one year after his collaboration with Cotton Casino(formerly with ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE)this CD finds Psychatrone experimenting more in sound!

This album features a totally acappella ,multi-tracked song("Can You Travel...?"),one track totally played on child's toys, and a few MOOG synth excursions. The whole album is a bit "darker" in feeling than his last release, while Mr. Rhonedakk certainly hopes that it is evident there is much hope in the mix here too.

The WIRE magazine said in their Oct. 2005 issue..."Rhonedakk treats us to a series of gothic synthesized instrumentals and songs that summon up a strange meeting between Antony(of the Johnsons fame)and electric organ grinder and former head of the Church of Satan, the late Anton Szandor LaVey." Mr.Pouncey also says that this is a "solo outing that displays the full extent of " Rhonedakk's "ideas and influences." Then he sums it up by saying that this CD is a "brew of esoteric musical nostalgia that Incredibly Strange Music fanatics will find enchanting"!

Psychotrone Rhonedakk "American Primitive Electronics" CD

This CD is a celebration of Psychatrone Rhonedakk's 10 years of self-releasing sounds!

This starts and ends with one new song...and in between there is a selection of Mr. Rhonedakk's early creations. Originally these were released on Cassettes and CD-R's in micro quantities in the late 1990's(although the recording dates go back as far as 1986!). This was just before Psychatrone released his first pressed CD,"Keep On Psychedelic Mind."

In his early days he was influenced by sci-fi soundtracks (Dr. Who,& Forbidden Planet, for example) and also early electronic innovators like Brian Eno, Tonto's Expanding Headband, Ashra Temple, and early 1970's Tangerine Dream. Here those influences and the discovery of "looping" through Terry Riley's and The Tall Dwarfs' music freed him to make his own sounds. Along the way Japan's more "open minded" psychadelic scene influenced things too. But on the bulk of this release things are more electronic in a raw ,experimental sense, making the title "American Primitive Electronics" the perfect clue to the sounds carried on this disc.

Many of these tracks are remixed from the original multi-tracks and a handful are never before released too! The unreleased cuts were newly mixed as they were found during the master tape searches in 2007. This disc starts off with "The Cult of The Violet Ray" and out-take from the critically acclaimed "Disturbs The Air" CD,and ends with Mr. Rhonedakk's new, personal take on Lou Reed's "I'm Set Free" recorded in 2007.

Pwdre Ser / Midwich "The Black Lighthouse" CDr

A Psychic-audio investigation of The Black Lighthouse, an abandoned office block overlooking a seaport town. Ten sound compositions explore the fields of dark ambient, post-punk, rhythmic industrial, and experimental drone. "Each composition has its own life and meaning, making 'The Black Lighthouse' one of the least monotone ambient/experimental records I have had the pleasure to listen to" - (review from Heathen Harvest).

James Reid "Like a Buzzard Chased by Crows" CDr BARL1

"Like A Buzzard Chased By Crows" is the debut album from the Fife based singer-songwriter James Reid.  With a love for the Autumnal pastoralia of Nick Drake, forays into the woods, homemade wine, and the legendary Wickerman soundtrack, Reid combines these passions to deliver his own lo-fi folk sketches of the beautiful, and sometimes strange, rural landscapes and hedgerow habitats of his native Scotland.  Armed with acoustic guitar, mandolin, a broken-down dictaphone, some demijohns and blessed with a golden larynx, Reid weaves melodies and atmospheres that draw favourable comparison to contempories like Greg Weeks and classics such as Drake's "Pink Moon" and David Crosby's "If I Could Only Remember My Name".  "Like A Buzzard Chased By Crows" features cover-art by Reid himself, is packaged in jewel cases and limited to 200 copies.

James Reid "Tales Between the Tides" 7" + CDr AFR002v

'Tales Between the Tides' is the collective title that James Reid has given to the latest release on Autumn Ferment Records. The two tracks, recorded by James at his home in Fife at the start of 2007, are available together on limited edition 7" vinyl. With no plans to include them on any future albums they act as a bridge between his debut release 'Like a Buzzard Chased by Crows'(2006, Barl Fire Rec.) and future recordings. Each record comes with a CDr of the same tracks.

Michael Rose "Warrior" CD MCD500

From his early solo work for Niney the Observer through a trailblazing stint as lead singer of Black Uhuru - netting reggae music its first Grammy - to his magnificent later solo work, Michael Rose has consistently remained at the helm of one of reggaes most far - reaching sounds. He can always be counted on to be challenging, topical, musically expansive and lyrically visionary - no small feat in a genre that sets aside old styles like ska, rock steady, roots and dub for the rest of the world to mine as it drives relentlessly forward. Great songs, great musicians - one of the best modern reggae albums we've heard. Produced and mixed by Ryan Moore/Twilight Circus.

Michael Rose "Warrior Dub" CD MCD520

Produced and mixed by Ryan Moore (Twilight Circus) - a fantastic modern dub album of a fantastic modern roots album. Moore and Rose make a fantastic team. One of our favorite records of 2007!
